Altair is one of the most Southern based Kingdoms, situated on the south-eastern side of the Larl Mountain Range. This mountain range separates the kingdom from the harsh desert of The Great Wastes. However the rough terrain does not allow much to grow and the dense rocky, spires make it difficult to build any cities. A dense cloud-like fog eternally rests upon the ground coating everything in chilling dampness. When night falls the temperatures drop below freezing and the frost takes all. It is for these reasons that the few cities that do exist in Altair are not situated on the ground. The capital city of Haven floats many feet above the ground, anchored to the ground to keep a relatively consistent location.

Altair is home to many geographical phenomena, though most common among them are its towering spires that jut from the foggy clouds below.
Located to the eastern edge of the kingdom these stones float by some form of ancient natural magic. Named after the mage who both discovered and studied these rocks, they now provide a foundation to the city of the same name. These rocks gently rotate around a centralized point below. Even the fog in this area seems to gently swirl below.
While its name may make one think of a waterfall much like the ones flowing from Atlios. This geographical anomaly is instead a location where the clouds seem to fall into the earth, much like water would into a pool. While lovely, and somewhat unsettling to look at, it is considered one of the most mysterious places in Altair. Several disasters are attributed to the exploration of the falls, and because of this little is know about it.
Whether this is just a peculiar spot of geography or was truly carved by the ancients, these semi-natural steps are carved into the eastern side of the Larl Mountains. Totaling nearly 27,000 steps in total, this notable location is a popular pilgrimage location for monks seeking knowledge at the sanctuary at its end.
Due to Altairs nature, there are not any villages or small towns, only three main cities.
Haven is the Capital of the kingdom of Altair. Held in the sky by the harnessed lift of five great spheres of natural gas, located each at one of the cardinal directions and one in the center of the city. These spheres are made from a form of Mithral mesh that has been combined with alchemical protections. Defended by arcane barriers, and plenty of air defense, attempting to take out any one of these spheres would be near impossible. The city is a major port for air traffic and constantly is swarming with airships of all types. The city is kept stationary by a series of immensely thick chains that run down to the surface of Altair.
Atlios is a city situated on the floating stones of the same name. An arcane city by nature this city clings to the side of these slowly spiraling stones. The rift between the material plane and the plane of air is weaker here and makes for a prime place to study its essence. The city is not very mercantile in nature, though makes a fair profit on tourism as it is a wonder to behold. That being said it is still one of the best places to gather magical items in Altair.
Situated on the slopes of the most southern peak of the Larl Mountain Range this city overlooks the Strangers Bay. Very militaristic in nature this city watches over the southern water with great vigilance ready to light its mighty beacon at the sign of any threat. The City is a Holy city to many, and for this reason, shrines and temples can be found to many gods here. The people are tough and the climate cold and harsh.
