Dogma
Paari’s followers are fascinated with what lies beyond the fabric of reality. What exists between them drives their searching in life. She does not care for the material plane, and exists as a rather indifferent deity in matters of the world, though she does take an interest in taking care and watching over the lost and undecided.
Appearance
In her true form Paari appears as a lithe woman. She retains an almost wispy nature. Her face does not seem to hold a specific form, instead it changes depending on who is looking at her. Still, her statutes generally show a woman with no defining facial features. Her humanoid form also seems to change, she always appears as a lost friend, love, or loved one.
Providence
Paari does not show much in the terms of approval and anger. Followers who do not do their part holding up to Paari’s Dogma often find themselves lost despite traveling familiar roads. They are visited by reminders of their guilt, and may find themselves more forgetful as though memories are plucked from their brain. Those who help the lost and guide the undecided often find themselves blessed with sweet memories from the past and long thought hopeless reunions.
Servants
Onma
A giant moth, with roughly a two foot wingspan. This servant often guides lost souls when all seems helpless. Those who claim to have seen this creature often report a warm and calming voice speaking in their minds.
The Keeper of loss
An old robed man who sometimes appears after something (or Someone) great has been lost. If a proper barter can be made he may return the great loss. Though he does not give up something for nothing but words.
The knight of the Void
A herald who occasionally appears to protect her followers. The knight appears in armor that glitters like the night sky, in fact, the armor seems to actually contain the stars. If anything is used to detect their presence there will be nothing to detect. The knight fights using Paari’s Style. (A special form of open fist fighting)
Church of Paari
Worshipers
Paari is worshipped by the mourning, seekers of mysteries, the lost, the undecided and delvers of the forbidden. Followers of once-gods too, contribute to her domain.
Obedience
Particularly devout followers of Paari will begin their day in meditation for an hour drawing a circle of the void, a decorative and complex rite circle, on the ground and place a non-magical item in the center as offering. After a short prayer, the item will vanish as it has been accepted by the goddess as offering.
Clergy
The Clergy of Paari contains a fair amount of clerics. Though many are just everyday souls feeling called to serve. The studious members of the church are experts on planar matters, and often have extensive notes on creatures not native to the material plane.
Temples and Shrines
Temples of Paari are extremely common, as they are usually double as orphanages, and resting places for the weary.
The shrine of Paari is a solid sphere that seems to be made of the celestial bodies of the sky. If a follower of Paari performs his daily ritual (Obedience) in the shrine they will be able to retrieve one item they have previously given to the goddess of the lost. In addition, they gain the use of Detect Planar Entity for the duration of the day. (This functions like detect magic though it can detect outsiders and other planar entities separate from just regular magical beings.)
The Shrine to Nothing
This shrine is located at the top of Mnt Paarid. The climb consists of 14,000 steps and is the only known spot on Chaldonia that the Void bleeds into the world. The shrine is abnormally cold and it feels wrong to stay for too long. Though it is a common destination for the devout to visit for a pilgrimage. Those who make the pilgrimage must survive a week in meditation living off of nothing but the sustenance of the void and what is provided from the fruit of the Bush of the Lost. Its gray berries are toxic and many perish on this pilgrimage, those who succeed speak greatly of the wisdom they earned and the gift Paari gives to those who succeed.
The Temple of the Forgotten
A great temple located in the Capital of Minutia (Deciding on a name). The clergy there have all gone and returned from the Pilgrimage to Nothing. It is said they know all that has drifted into the realm of the forgotten. Their oaths have forbidden them from ever speaking. And their writing is thought to be in the language of the Void. Many of the devout still travel to this temple to meditate and study.
The River of Los
This river flows milky in color, its waters are said to rob minds of their memory. Though if used properly it can be used to cure amnesia.
Holy Texts
The holy texts of Paari are actually just a book of empty pages. A true follower of Paari can contemplate the meaning of the universe and the infinite. The holy texts are both everything and nothing together.
The Tome of All Things Lost
This tome never seems to end, even though it appears to be no thicker than any other holy text. It is written in the language of the Void and contains all lost knowledge. Every missing memory. Every lost word. It's a shame the only ones who can read are sworn to silence.
Holidays
The Festival of the Lost Day.
This festival is a great celebration because it only occurs once every 4 years. When the lost day appears on the calendar. On this day it is customary to gift needless trinkets. Tokens of the lost as they are called. The day is full of eating and drinking all across Caledonia.
Organizations
The Lost Ones
An order devoted to the darker, more sinister implications of Paari’s domain. This order is one of assassins, thieves, and criminals.
The Keepers of the Forgotten
This order of a few clergy members are those who keep the Temple of the Forgotten. They guard the knowledge imparted unto them by Paari. Taking an oath of Silence and a Curse to only write in the language of the Void, in return for total enlightenment.
